Workflow automation could be a powerful legal innovation. It has the potential to drastically increase efficiency and reduce the cost of legal services, leading to increased access to understanding, courts, outcomes, and more. However, since few workflows are standardized across courts, firms, agencies, etc., most workflow automation must be personalized to the workplace it applies to.
Zack Hutto, who works for Gartner advising in-house legal departments, says in 2021 that workflow digitization is the biggest opportunity for his clients.
